Make your brand easier to understand in AI search

A practical way to check what answers say about your business, improve your public information and track changes without promising a recommendation.

Why this matters now

A buyer may ask an assistant for help comparing products instead of starting on your homepage. Try a few questions from your own customers and record the answers. What does the response say, which products does it name and which sources, if any, support it?

Treat that exercise as a snapshot. One answer is not a measure of your market, and no page edit guarantees that an assistant will recommend you. The useful work is making your public information accurate and helpful to a reader.

Start with the public information you control

Different services produce and source answers differently. Avoid assuming they share one ranking formula. Start with a simpler check: could someone reading your site explain what you offer, who it helps and what is actually available?

  • A clear description of what someone can use today and the important limitations.
  • Pages that answer specific questions with examples and evidence.
  • Consistent facts across your own product pages and profiles.
  • Readable headings and text, with sources for outside claims.

Step 1: find out where you stand

Write down ten questions a buyer would ask before choosing a product like yours. Ask them in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Note who gets mentioned, which sources are cited and how you're described if you appear at all. Date everything; answers change.

Keep the question, service, date, answer and cited sources together. Use the same questions when you check again. The proposed Boplis GEO workstream illustrates this kind of review, but the current preview does not run live checks.

Step 2: fix the information gaps

Open any cited sources and compare them with your own pages. Look for an unanswered question, an outdated fact or a missing example. Choose one useful fix rather than treating a single citation as a formula for success.

  • Write a fair comparison if your readers are already asking how you differ from an alternative.
  • Make your homepage and pricing page say plainly what you do, who it's for and what it costs.
  • Correct outdated descriptions on profiles you control.
  • Use first-hand examples you can document, with permission where needed.
  • Check that visible information is readable and any structured data matches it.

A technical check without a magic-file promise

Google says its existing SEO practices apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode. Eligible supporting pages must be indexed and able to show a search snippet; no special AI text file or special schema is required. Eligibility does not guarantee appearance. This guidance describes Google's features, not every assistant.

An llms.txt file can be a curated page index, but it is not a promise of visibility. Keep your indexing settings intentional. Boplis itself remains no-index while the current preview and launch decisions are unfinished.

Step 3: re-check on a schedule you can keep

Repeat the same question set after meaningful changes and record what differs. Separate an inaccurate product description from a simple absence of a mention. Keep improving the pages for the reader even when an answer does not change. The goal is a useful, accurate public record of your business.
